Dr. Ward Murdock

With the exception of three years in the Middle East, I have lived for the last 25 years in Fredericton, New Brunswick with my wife, Kim, and three children. Since graduating from Dalhousie University in 1988, I have practiced as a general obstetrician/gynaecologist with a special interest in endoscopic surgery after receiving additional training from Tufts University in 1995.

I have enjoyed being involved in various positions at both a provincial and local level including Specialty Representative on the New Brunswick Medical Society, Chair of the local Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Chief of Maternal and Child Health. In 2008, I was appointed Local Chief of Medical Staff for Horizon Health Network in New Brunswick.

As a member of our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department, I have been involved in teaching both family medicine residents and senior obstetrical residents from both Dalhousie and Memorial universities. We will also soon be involved in teaching medical students in the new medical school in New Brunswick.

My involvement in the SOGC has included positions on Clinical Guidelines Committee and Alternate Chair for the Atlantic Region and serving as Chair of the Atlantic Region. He is currently serving a two year term as Vice-President.
