Dr. Robin Johnson

Dr. Robin Johnson is currently in community practice, working full time in a town of about 15,000 people. 25% of the population is Aboriginal. Dr. Robin Johnson is a member of the First Nations community since she was born in Williams Lake. Dr. Robin Johnson works with a nurse practitioner in an accessible pap smear clinic. The clinics at this health centre facilitate teaching and enable Aboriginal women to have a familiar setting. Additionally, Dr. Robin Johnson is also an abortion provider. Some of her patients include youth whom are aboriginal. She is typically the first person who educates her patients about contraception, safer sex and the necessity of yearly screening examinations. She finds the education aspect of her work to be interesting and rewarding and has been asked to speak with youth in remote communities
